The geography of taste: how to form the food preferences




No more than geography to understand it , because the territory and its components: climate , flora , fauna and religion have influenced the gastronomy  from the beginning at times. In fact, an anthropologist called Jeremy MacClancy noted that tribes have preferences and tastes influenced by their culture , which are defined differently worldwide.


Along with environmental and cultural factors , the genetic influences in the form how we experience the taste , and varies widely between countries. In  some parts of Asia , South America and Africa , up to 85 % of the native populations are sensitive tasters , but Europeans are not so .

Did you know that most of the meals from afar , is adapted to our tastes ? .
Well, the cultural cookery not only differ in the key ingredients, also have conflicting views of what goes with what. Traditional European  food pairing is that share flavors , Asian cuisine does the opposite and avoid similar flavor combination .

However,  the globalization always will influence the adaptation of the meals to the culinary demands of each country , making the cultures modify their original dishes for foreigners , and that multinational companies alter their products to each market ... well , who knows , which give pleasure perhaps meals is the only universal ingredient
