English class in the University

 Well, I dont considered myself as a  bilingual person, but  personally, I think that types of metodology of class  the blogs is a very good way to practice the english language , because  is very useful  to express the knowledge about this idiom,  speaking about  some  topic of our personal interest !!

Commonly,  i always think that is so much important learn and practice our  English for our professional future, because  is a  very useful tool what open a window to different types of opportunities to work abroad, because is an universal language.

I have some  problems  with english, principally with  some words, or with pronunciation in general,   principally because i need more  is more practice  and increase  my  knowledge about this language, for this situation,  I consider  is  to much important  the help of the teachers , because  I really  learn to much about that i need to know for my future interaction with globalized world ,  thanks to  they.

Personally, I think that with the english class I could be developed my knowledge about this, but i must to try to practice even more !!

How green are you ?

The  people in Chile,  normally  thinks that  green life is  only a life  style, and   at the same  time,  people  forget  the  importance  of  contributing to an improvement of the environment around us. 

Well,  understanding that consciousness of recycling how  a form to give useful life to  the   cotidian  things like   paper,  plasticle things, understanding that recycling is the action to re-enter the cycle of production  waste  products, we need to implement  that kind of  politycs, I considered myself, as a  young woman in processes of change towards a healthier lifestyle in relation to other years, that situation,  probably occurs   because   actually   consciousness  of  the  people change  to a better think  about  world, about environment  and  about  life.

Some  litle things  that  I do  to  contribute environment, is for example, practice recycle in my house,  using containers  to separate, paper, plastic and glass, and normaly I try to reduce  the  time in the shower, in fact,  I  try to promote  the green conscience  between my family.  Actually,  that society develop an environmental mindedness more marked than in the past. But,  even  with that,  Chile still needs   to improve in several aspects.  

One  of  the   sites   that contributes that,  calls http://yoreciclo.cl/ , and  it explains many  useful things  about that topic,  even  provides information about groups and campaigns related with that green contribution  to the  society.  Anyway, is very important to implement such strategies in schools, because this doesn´t happen in all schools of chile, more than a simple presentation  of five minutes about this topic.

If we were able to recycle the trash would have less less pollution, many things could be cheaper because they would be recycled and would spend less natural resources.

The perfect song

One of my favorite songs, and probably one of the most significant is "Óleo de una mujer con sombrero"  from Silvio Rodriguez, but is only part of the list of songs I like, the first time I heard this song goes back to the days of my childhood, prosperous and beautiful time, in which my parents were still together.

Is one of the songs that have generated more impact on my life,but not  for its content, or because I feel completely identified, if not that, for some reason, always makes me feel family shelter, maybe just because I associate with my childhood and my parents listening to it while I played with my neighbor in my backyard. Probably, this is one of the most beautiful songs and simple at the same time representing the idealized love in its most wonder expression when this love is consummated, and not dependent on other variables that society imposes.

At the same time, I remember my ex boyfriend, played on guitar, and we sang that song together, the good thing is that I always had the clarity of that song was more associated with my childhood, that a specific romance, but i do not deny that it was beautiful sing it in that context.
well, on that, no further comment, only I must confess that I love this song.

A clip that I like

A video  clip that I like :  "Bad Romance "

One of the  videoclips that was entrapped me  in the last time , is that of American singer Lady Gaga , called "Bad romance " ,  although I don´t consider myself a fan of her music, in fact, is not attractive to me.  I must confess that  I like the proposal and extravagance of her videos.

As for his music, "Bad Romance" features a spoken bridge , a chorus at full voice and letter refers to the situation of being in love with best friend, but dont interest  me the lyrics of the song, actually hypnotizing me is the stage play and the dynamics of color images , the artistic approach and the staging of the singer.

The song, contain elements of the music of the decades of the 90s and the 80's influences of German  techno music ,  but I don´t captivates her music and experimental pop song . I have understood that it had a positive reception for its artistic style and symbolic plot.

The first time I saw that video, was with some friends ,but  I don´t remember the date, but it was in a party ,  I remember that a crazy girl  began to dance like a "simio", that was funny ahahaahahha.

I don´t share in musical terms the preference about  this type of artist , but this don´t disturb me , in fact, I  dont have problems with  that kind of dance music in a party context ahahha .
Truth , I don´t have any  interesting story related with this song ,  i just related the video to a friend who I consider a lot, despite being so different.

The geography of taste: how to form the food preferences

No more than geography to understand it , because the territory and its components: climate , flora , fauna and religion have influenced the gastronomy  from the beginning at times. In fact, an anthropologist called Jeremy MacClancy noted that tribes have preferences and tastes influenced by their culture , which are defined differently worldwide.

Along with environmental and cultural factors , the genetic influences in the form how we experience the taste , and varies widely between countries. In  some parts of Asia , South America and Africa , up to 85 % of the native populations are sensitive tasters , but Europeans are not so .

Did you know that most of the meals from afar , is adapted to our tastes ? .
Well, the cultural cookery not only differ in the key ingredients, also have conflicting views of what goes with what. Traditional European  food pairing is that share flavors , Asian cuisine does the opposite and avoid similar flavor combination .

However,  the globalization always will influence the adaptation of the meals to the culinary demands of each country , making the cultures modify their original dishes for foreigners , and that multinational companies alter their products to each market ... well , who knows , which give pleasure perhaps meals is the only universal ingredient

A day i will always remember

 I never forget the first time I traveled alone far from home, I think that was one of the longest days of my adolescence.

I remember that very well, I used to go with my parents all sides, even though he had a troubled adolescence with them, I had never traveled without them. I remember, when I went to the beach with a group of friends (we were 2 girls and 3 boys from 16 years old), and we had to cook and organize between us.

I was very  dependent until then, I remember that day I got up early for a breakfast with my parents and hug them a lot, because I had in my mind the silly idea that we would miss and would not until many years (immature hahaha)

I also remember that my father gave me a long talk about many topics and together, he and mom were to leave the terminal to get to where my friends were already on the beach. They were a couple of hours, but to me, it were eternal and  i non stopped talk with the old man who was at my side (I think he was patient, poor hahahahahaha)

The moment I arrived, my friends were to hug me by all and the boys ordered the bedroom. As I relaxed a little, me and my friend were talking about stupid teenagers while we ate snacks and drank a jug of juice each, that helped me to relax and think that traveling alone was not as bad as I thought.

The days with my friends in that beautiful place were wonderful, and I used to learn to cook a couple of desserts and campfires. Every day I missed my parents, and when I returned, I thanked them let me learn to fend for myself. I will never forget the joy I felt when I realized that they would return to trust me after a long time of discussions prior to that summer, since that day I value them more than before.

That is a beautiful and simple memories, I have many more but I do not remember in detail, just know that I felt at home again, with them, my parents .

Every time I can, I return contact with some of those friends who gave me great moments, and I recall that summer that made ​​me grow in many ways!

A country I would like to visit

I Would like to visit Egypt, is one of the ideas that invades my mind. Probably, this desire I caught my mother, who always admired there, because it considered a magical destination that would like to go in her lifetime.


To be honest, the reason for this desire is primarily for my curiosity, and well, I have not reported much about the country rather than just in its general aspects. I have read some articles about its charms, and that's in part what power I plan to make this desire.


I think one of the biggest reasons why anyone would want to visit it for its culture, its monuments and archeological sites, Also I would like to know the river Nile .. Egypt should be a unique country, I'm dying to know this in many aspects ..


Some colleagues from my mom spoke a few days ago on their way through for Egypt, and said they would not regret going in any sense, of course  they had visited several years ago, and also spoke that there was a typical food she would love , called "fattahf", which I read in internet, corresponding to layers of dry bread soaked in broth, rice and meat seasoned with garlic and vinegar and topped with yogurt, nuts and raisins.


Now I probably would have some doubts about going to Egypt, other than that I have no money now hahahahahaha, those doubts would also because it is not politically stable, and of course, I don´t know speak Arabic idiom , with luck I can manage a little of  English and I would like to master some of these languages ​​before going.

My ideal Job

My ideal job would be a fun job: Being a singer and live from it jajajah. I used to say that since childhood, and I still have the same dream, but I would like to be already consolidated and go tours constantly, it would be very entertaining!. So I would win money based on what I normally do to relax: take my guitar and writing songs

I would use that money to travel, to share with those I love and buy a enormous ground and establish some sort of foundation that contribute to society and be a part of that project.

I would like to do, because I don´t want doing the same all my life,  because I bored the routine. Or maybe it would be complementary to my work as a geographer, suddenly would be fun to try, because knowing myself, I would need to do something that breaks my routine occasionally.

That's why which live this music would be ideal for me, because it is a work that deserves to give all of me, which clearly has a lot of effort involved, talent or luck in my case ajajjajah

If I were that lucky, do not doubt it for a second, but we must be realistic, what is sold today is no longer just music, the singer who achieved successthe majority of the time it's just an image just a product. So another option which I also like to, would work for any function training dogs and caring for them in general, because I love them

Well, I think my perfect job ideas are quite related, but I'm probably not the only one, considering that since children and we have very very crazy ideas

Piaso´s Life

Hello, my name is Pia Soto Salazar and I ´m  a  geography student at the University of Chile. I was born in Santiago in 1992, and  i lived here ever since. I entered the geography career in 2011, and I don´t regret it.

Personally, I love the contact with nature, at the same time I love music, books, travel and everything that I give dynamic day experiences that surprise me because I hate the routine.

I'm a friendly person, lover of simple things, enjoy the company of the people I love and respect and cherish the important moments that life gives me. I treasure every trip, every experience ... ahhaha yeah! As grandparents ... I'm nostalgic but I consider myself a calm and happy person. I love dancing, and I enjoy family meetings and parties with friends

Generally I like to travel to south of Chile, Valdivia and Chiloe personally love, but I rather enjoy beautiful places and people know simple. I like places near rivers, lakes and surrounded by abundant vegetation, but also enjoy the mystery of enchanted evenings in the north under the starry sky.

I could write several paragraphs about me, though it might seem too self-referential ahahhaha ... Well this is PIASO in short, with this simple life, but also unpredictably, very wonderful, that I hope to remain surprising and generally makes me feel full and happy.
